How do you turn a hot new product into a cool new brand?

When coconut water hit the shelves as the new big thing in the health food industry, our client asked us to see to the design of his version of the product, in a way that would distinguish it from the others beginning to clutter the shelves. We steered away from the clichéd palm trees and tropical beaches, and focused on a design that communicated refreshment in a relevant and yet unexpected way – stylised droplets represent hydration, and touches of silver signal the premium nature of the brand.
