    We are looking for an experienced account director to work on a through the line portfolio of business in our Cape Town office. 

    The successful candidate will have the following qualities:

    • Previous advertising agency experience is essential
    • Four+ years of experience in the account management function (big agency experience is preferable)
    • Experienced in working with senior clients across multiple stakeholders
    • A natural leader with fantastic people skills - both within the agency environment and when dealing with client
    • Has strong organisation, admin and time management skills, able to take the lead on projects
    • Pays attention to the details and worries about the little things
    • Has strong integrated marketing skills
    • Is energetic with a go-getter attitude

    Traffic Manager

    Our Cape Town agency requires the services of a bright, experienced candidate with a passion for the advertising industry, specifically focusing on a career in a busy agency and creative studio environment with a flair for traffic management.

    Job specifications and personal skills:
     

    • Matric certificate with college or university exemption
    • Must have at least 5 years' advertising background with TTL (ATL, BTL, DTP & Digital) traffic experience 
    • Must have worked in a through the line advertising agency with an understanding of the key departments, processes and structures within an agency
    • Young, passionate, diligent, bright, confident, fast learner
    • Gets on with all people and responds well to instructions and change and is proactive and solutions driven and works well under pressure and within a team.

    Job skills:
     

    • Must be PC literate: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel -  preferably with experience working CHASE software
    • Good verbal and writing skills
    • Good planning skills and time management skills
    • Detail oriented and solutions driven

    Job duties:
     

    • Acts/runs as a traffic manager in a busy creative studio & production environment and able to manage own key accounts, under the supervision and guidance of head of traffic.
    • Assists/supports the head of traffic with all administrative tasks in the traffic department as well as in the creative studio
    • Learns and understands the processes and systems in place
    • Takes instructions from and executes for the head of traffic all duties pertaining to this position

    Digital Content Director

    The Digital Content Director is responsible for establishing and managing the agency’s approach and execution of our clients’ digital content marketing.

    He or she oversees all content initiatives, both internal and external, working on multiple platforms and formats to develop quality digital content in collaboration with the broader M&CSaatchi Africa team. The Digital Content Director must be proficient in managing and producing all forms of content; social copy, articles, design, photography and videography. They will also act as the primary liaison for the client to drive innovation, champion understanding and adoption of digital content production.

    SENIOR MANAGEMENT

    • Manage the content creation team (social media managers, content executives and digital designers) and ensure that everyone involved is motivated, learning, growing and inspired.
    • Continuously give feedback on the digital content team’s performance and ensure sufficient training is in place to improve their core skills and competencies.
    • Build a network of digital content producers including editors, writers, photographers, videographers, designers and other creatives.
    • Work closely with our media partners to integrate media strategy into digital content deliverables.
    • Develop strong, trusting relationships between clients and agency partners, providing leadership and support during strategy, ideation, and execution.
    • Build strong relationships with senior clients to both address key queries and drive the further development of digital for them.
    • Work closely with broader team and clients to understand what messages need to be conveyed, audiences to be reached and the most appropriate formats to employ as part of a solid digital marketing plan.
    • Some contact with a range of clients from junior to senior level on a day-to-day basis. 
    • Promote the expansion of business with existing clients and work on briefed and pro-active proposals and pitches for new clients. 


    STRATEGY & PLANNING

    • Establish digital content targets and business plan goals, as well as the establishment of our content marketing approach.
    • Work with clients to outline their digital content needs including brand pillars to build content around, messaging they need to get across/align themselves to and the digital content that will allow them to tap into the audience they want to reach.
    • Develop solutions to meet clients’ needs and brand objectives based off consumer insight, research and data.
    • Drive the collaboration between cross-functional teams to develop and evolve ideas/campaigns/brand goals
    • Proactively keep abreast of assigned clients' marketing and media plans, and provide technological solutions including rich media, site optimization, promotional ideas, mobile, social networks, viral, etc.
    • Write communications briefs, ensuring that creative and media are effectively integrated
    • According to target audiences and media, plan selective and specific high quality digital content productions to maximize consumer impact, service media relations needs and business objectives. 
    • Manage research studies that yield rich insights into consumer online behaviour and key motivational/attitudinal behaviour.
    • Develop a total understanding of online target audience and mind-set modes
    • Identifying tactical and relevant opportunities to engage – creating / tailoring exiting new content to the needs of the audience in the context of client product and or industry.
       

    CREATION

    • Lead the creation of relevant, top quality content and acts as executive producer to both agency and clients.
    • Accountable for all content marketing initiatives to drive traffic, engagement, leads that deliver sales and customer retention.
    • You should have a brand publisher mind-set: to create content audiences are looking for, then optimise the path to conversion.
    • Ensure all digital content is SEO-optimized and has the correct content categorization and structure.
    • Act as the champion and guardian for content to ensure consistent brand voice, style, tone and point of view for clients
    • Develop digital content calendars and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Edit, proofread and improve content
    • Ensure the selection and management of the right production partners.
    • Act as custodian of the brand strategy and the successful implementation of all work produced
    • Supervise editors, writers, creatives and other team members ensuring the highest quality content is produced, including the curation of relevant content.
    • Establish a work flow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing and retiring content. This will also involve the supervision and maintaining content inventories and matrices.
    • Ensure consistent global experience and implement appropriate localisation/translation strategies.
    • Oversee the hiring of content creators and production partners, as required.


    PUBLISHING, OPTIMIZATION & REPORTING

    • Strategically distribute customized digital content to the appropriate social/digital/media channels.
    • Manage how messages are timeously distributed, measure response and tailor future efforts accordingly.
    • Driving engagement and conversations with the community and ultimately establishing brand loyalty
    • Identify tactical and relevant opportunities to engage – creating / tailoring exciting new content to the needs of the audience in the context of client product and or industry.
    • Execute and optimise content during campaigns to ensure momentum and visibility.
    • Ensure the client’s digital content performs according to international standards.
    • Monitor digital content’s performance in live time to optimise media and content strategy to ensure highest possible performance.
    • Provide periodic campaign performance reporting and analysis to clients.
    • Create a monthly digital content report to be shared with the client including statistics, insights, analysis and strategy for content going forward.
    • Work closely with the media/analytics team to drive positive sentiment and optimisation.

    Our Johannesburg team is looking for a dynamic social media content manager who is a self-starter, multi-tasker, someone who lives to innovate and can engage audiences on various social media platforms. This person must be bold and bright and excited to push themselves and their work to be audacious and unique! 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Lead and execute social media content and strategy for M&CSaatchi Abel client campaigns: 
    • Creating content plans in line with a brand’s social media strategy and tone
    • Ensuring content is posted timeously across social media platforms
    • Writing content that is suitable for various social media platforms
    • Responding to and addressing the community’s queries and complaints efficiently, professionally and timeously
    • Briefing in images to a design team in a clear and concise manner
    • Liaising with client and or Account Manager to address key queries around social media
    • Driving engagement and conversations with the community and ultimately establishing brand loyalty
    • Identifying tactical and relevant opportunities to engage with the community
    • Working closely with the Analytics team to drive positive sentiment and optimise on content opportunities
    • Executing and optimising content during campaigns to ensure momentum and optimal visibility
    • Live tweeting from events
    • Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends within the digital and social media landscape
    • Inputting into campaign ideas and creative brainstorming sessions
    • Executing social media competitions and collating entries
    • Compiling weekly / monthly social media platform reports and campaign reports
    • Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of Social Media campaigns. Analyse, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximise results

    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    • Time management and multitasking skills – ability to prioritise and track time
    • Displays in-depth knowledge, understanding & proficiency of Social Media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest, as well as emerging platforms etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
    • Conceptualisation of campaign ideas according to client briefs and proactive agency work
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience fulfilling the Social Media Manager role agency or client side
    • Critical analysis of social media data in order to pull out key learnings to client
    • Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary (i.e.: content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management)
    • Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
    • Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research. Highly knowledgeable in the principles of “Search and Social”.
    • Professional demeanour internally and externally when dealing with clients
    • Effective communication skills coupled with good presentation skills
    • Maintains excellent writing and language skills
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Understanding of design principles

    We are looking for a Media Planner with 2- 4 years media agency media planning experience who has perfected their planning art. 
     
    Someone able to "connect the dots" and willing to work as an integrated part of our media team.
     
    We are a small business, so this person will need to have a can-do attitude and willing to work and learn in a fast-paced, exciting environment.

    Requirements:

    • Basic understanding of media principles
    • Able to work with media-software tools like Arianna and/or Telmar
    • Previous experience being the lead TV and Radio planner on medium to large size clients
    • Genuine interest and curious about brands, marketing, consumers
    • Excellent task manager ñ able to prioritise and work calmly under pressure
