    The successful candidate will have the following qualities:

    • At least 6+ years' advertising agency experience is essential - specifically in the account management function
    • Experienced in working with clients across multiple stakeholders 
    • A natural leader with fantastic people skills - both within the agency environment and when dealing with client
    • Has strong organisation, admin and time management skills
    • Pays attention to the details and worries about the little things

    Community Manager

    Our Africa team is looking for a dynamic community manager to work with us on one of the most exciting alcohol brands on social media. You will be responsible for managing and engaging with their entrenched, loyal and highly active audience as well as uploading all content to the various platforms the brand has a presence on.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with the Digital Content Director and the Social Media Manager to develop content calendars
    • Help generate new ideas for social content to drive communications
    • Write engaging copy for use on relevant social media platforms
    • Respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner
    • Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews
    • Use global best practice principles to engage with audiences on social media channels
    • Review user generated comments and posts in a quick and timely manner
    • Respond to comments, when appropriate, in order to foster a positive community and add value to the user’s experience.
    • Enforce the Social Media Guidelines as defined by the brand.
    • Escalate User Generated Content, where appropriate, to internal and client stakeholders
    • Upload all social calendars through the brands chosen content management system
    • Work with community platform vendor to address, resolve and communications any issues

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Proven work experience as a community manager is a mandatory. If you do not have previous experience, your application will not be considered
    • Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter)
    • Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics (e.g. repeat attendance at events)
    • Excellent verbal communication skills
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Hands on experience with social media management for brands
    • Ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics
    • Knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask

    Our Cape Town agency is looking to hire junior digital designer with 1-2 years experience, having worked in an advertising agency

    The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

    • Preferably 1-2 Years Experience (in an advertising agency)
    • Strong understanding of design principles
    • Broad understanding of internet related technologies and standards
    • Experience in using the Adobe Suite (proficiency in Photoshop & Illustrator is a must)
    • Strong conceptual skills
    • Willingness to actively contribute to brainstorming sessions
    • Desire to stay up to date with innovation and technical developments in the creative and digital media industries

    Digital Creative Director

    Our Cape Town agency is looking to hire an experienced Digital Creative Director to lead a young, dynamic and growing digital team within the agency and champion digital thinking and innovation throughout the agency.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Ultimately responsible for the quality of the digital work across the agency and client portfolios
    • Driving innovation and best practice when it comes to all aspects of digital
    • Oversee Creative teams, including designers, writers, social media and content managers. (All development is done externally)                                    
    • Mentor & Manage the studio team – keep them happy, inspired and motivated.
    • Allocate work to teams in collaboration with traffic
    • Inspire creatives and the agency about work.
    • Give recognition and encourage those under you.
    • Do your own award winning work. 

    Your Success Measure: Is the agency's digital work winning? Is the digital creative department happy and productive? Are you seamlessly integrated with the rest of the agency teams.                         

    KEY FOCUS AREAS

     PEOPLE

    • Probably the most important part of your job. Rallying all agency disciplines from strat - Account Management - Production - Creative teams - Traffic behind solving problems and creating great digital work. You are also solely responsible for the happiness, performance and motivation levels of the entire digital creative department. You are both manager and mentor - you need to facilitate and inspire great work. You need to have the excellent interpersonal skills and buy–in from all.

     CONCEPTUAL

    • You are ultimately responsible for the quality of thinking that you and the teams under you produce. This should be of a consistently high quality. You should be able to both develop and inspire great, fresh, impactful thinking. As well as drive a strong digital agenda that is integrated with the rest of the agency. Having an integrated view on work is essential.

     EXECUTION

    • You are the benchmark of quality and the standard for your discipline in the agency. Your design for digital should be beyond question and be the envy of all below you. 

     PRESENTATION

    • You will need to be able to present work well to the most senior clients and organisational heads. You will be responsible for presenting your teams pitch work. You will need to be able to present work right from strategy to creative execution. 

     PRODUCTION

    • You will be responsible for the all production decisions: choice of suppliers and the quality of work you extract from them. You should feel confident having the final say on work before it goes to client and the media.

    Account Director

    M&C Saatchi is developing a social and behavioural change communications campaign to tackle the stigma and discrimination that prevents at-risk populations from accessing vital HIV prevention and treatment services accross eight countries in Southern Africa. This is part of the KP REACH programme.


    M&C Saatchi is looking for a dynamic and experienced Account Director who is passionate about using their communications skills to help create social impact. They will be based at our regional office in Cape Town, South Africa. 

    Overview of Account Director Role

    • The Account Director will head up the M&C Saatchi team in South Africa.
    • The Account Director will take the lead in managing the creative development and production process.
    • The Account Director will be the primary client contact across the three-year programme and take responsibility for the everyday project management of all activities.
    • The Account Director will help build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with all partners. This includes working with NGOs and civil society organisations that represents at-risk populations across the eight countries.
    • The Account Director will be responsible for ensuring that all outputs are delivered on time and are of consistent high quality.
    • The Account Director will also support the Project Lead in ensuring all processes are fully compliant with Global Fund processes across the course of the programme.
    • This role will include outreach travel to visit programme partners in the eight countries.
