    Digital Project Manager

    We believe that “the people with the best people win” and are looking for a dynamic Johannesburg based Digital Project Manager to join our team and be part of this audacious vision. We are looking for a brave, bright, optimistic problem solver.

    A Digital Project Manager drives e-projects through from initial concept to delivery. They work on a range of campaigns on several different projects and must be adept at managing and building client relationships and reporting on the status of projects. 

    Four focus areas:

    1. Project Management- You take ownership of all the Digital specific campaigns tasked to you and ensure project deliverables are tracked against the Project plans which are considered & accurate and you strive to adhere to the commitments made to the various stakeholders. Both internal and external. 
    2. Financial Management – Working closely with the overall Campaign driver, budgets are managed tightly with a keen eye on innovation and best practice models in the most cost-effective way. 
    3. Stakeholder & Integration Management - You understand that your role is not in isolation of the Campaign driver, your focus will be on the Digital and Social needs of all jobs in your remit. As such, your orientation is to drive collaboration and integration in an effort for all teams to work better together. 
    4. Administrative Management: You pay attention to the detail  and worry about the little things, with strong organization, admin and time management skills.

    Five qualities we are looking for:

    1.  Clarity: You leave no room for questions as you ensure that all stakeholders are clear on what happens when a brief is received or a campaign has been approved and needs to be expanded onto Digital and Social Channels. 
    2.  Business Savvy: You have the ability to have your finger on the pulse when it comes to finances: Managing of budgets across your jobs to deliver on the best work for the campaign, and to do this in a manner that leads to the most productive output/solutions for the jobs.
    3.  High level EQ: You act as a barometer when it comes to people / workload and the glue between the ATL and Digital and Social Teams in studio – You are able to raise, flag and manage this in an efficient and effective manner.
    4.  Relationship Builder – You hold positive relationships with your Campaign drivers as well as all internal teams you engage with on jobs. They enjoy working with you, because you support the fight for great work and consistency and are able to connect dots across departments seamlessly to drive solutions.
    5.  Proactive Problem Solver - Your ability to solve in the positive, makes all the difference, because you not only find and implement solutions, but you do so by consulting with relevant stakeholders to ensure no deadline is missed. You never panic, and instead provides calmness to the storm.

    Three things you must have:

    1.  Matric certificate with college or university exemption
    2.  Must have at least 3 years' advertising background with digital project/account management experience  and an understanding of the key departments, processes and structures within an Advertising Agency
    3.   Must be PC literate: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel - preferably with experience working CHASE software

    Production

    • Lead projects from the brainstorming session all the way through to the very last element

We’re looking for a strong TTL writer, ideally with genuine digital ATL experience, but if you really can’t say goodbye to your current copywriter (and they’re at least as good you) we’ll consider applications from teams too.

    Your number one job is to work with your Copywriter to crack big, hairy, fresh ideas and then sell them hard and execute them perfectly. You’ll be expected to function well in a team, and bring a spirit of collaboration with you when you walk through the door every morning. 

    6 THINGS YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    1. Concepts: Not only do you bring brave, new and diverse thoughts to brainstorms, but you come up with strong integrated thinking. You understand the brand's overall strategy and is able to develop work that answers to this. You may also need to facilitate brainstorms where you are able to build on other's ideas and come to solutions quicker. You listen and take on board diverse view points and encourage different viewpoints in the team.
    2. Digital Platforms: A thorough understanding of digital platform formats and how to art direct for them is essential. 
    3. Execution: Your experience now means that you must be able to produce work faster and you should by now have mastered the art of composing the right visual look and feel, in the right visual style to communicate the concept.
    4. Selling and Presenting: You confidently present internally and externally to senior clients without the CD being there. You will need to be able to have a meaningful conversations with clients around the strategic direction of their brand and the brands' visual persona and present creative off the back of strategy and link the two seamlessly.
    5. Production: You will now have a lot more autonomy in choosing suppliers (directors / photographers / illustrators / designers / animators / editors) and as such you stay appraised of the latest and best people to partner with, in order to  have an opinion on who executes your work. You will be expected to harness the best from those suppliers and build relations with them for the ultimate good of the work.
    6. People and Relationship Management: You hold close and respected relationships across all departments and people genuinely enjoy working with you. You may need to work with and get the best out of junior teams and be open to culturally diverse ideas that don't match your world view.

    2. Execution: You are the benchmark of quality and the standard for your discipline in the agency. Your Art Direction / Writing should be beyond question and be the envy of all below you. You should display an intolerance for the ordinary.
    3. Digital Platforms: A thorough understanding of digital platform formats and how to produce work for them.
    4. Selling and Presenting: You can present work with conviction to the most senior clients and organisational heads. You will be responsible for presenting your teams pitch work. You will need to be able to present work right from strategy to creative execution.
    5. Production: You will be responsible for the all production decisions: choice of suppliers and the quality of work you extract from them. You should feel confident having the final say on work before it goes to client and the media.
    6. People and Relationship Management: Probably the most important part of your job. Rallying all agency disciplines from Strat - AM - Production - Creative Teams - Traffic behind solving problems and creating great work. You are also solely responsible for the happiness, performance and motivation levels of the entire creative department. You are both manager and mentor - you need to facilitate and inspire great work. You need to have the excellent interpersonal skills and buy-in from all. Employ the right, diverse people for your team.
