    Digital Creative Director (Art Director/ Design)

    Responsibilities include:

    • Ultimately responsible for the quality of the digital creative work across the agency and client portfolios
    • Driving innovation and best practice when it comes to all aspects of digital
    • Oversee Creative teams, including designers, writers, social media and content managers. (all development is done externally)                                    
    • Mentor & Manage the studio team – keep them happy, inspired and motivated.
    • Allocate work to teams in collaboration with traffic
    • Inspire creatives and the agency about work.
    • Give recognition and encourage those under you.
    • Do your own award-winning work. 

    Your success measure: Is the agency's digital work winning? Is the digital creative department happy and productive? Are you seamlessly integrated with the rest of the agency teams?                         

    Key focus areas:

    People

    • Probably the most important part of your job. Rallying all agency disciplines from strat - account management - production - creative teams - traffic behind solving problems and creating great digital work.
    • You are also solely responsible for the happiness, performance and motivation levels of the entire digital creative department.
    • You are both manager and mentor - you need to facilitate and inspire great work. You need to have the excellent interpersonal skills and buy–in from all.

    Conceptual

    • You are ultimately responsible for the quality of thinking that you and the teams under you produce.
    • This should be of a consistently high quality. You should be able to both develop and inspire great, fresh, impactful thinking.
    • As well as drive a strong digital agenda that is integrated with the rest of the agency.
    • Having an integrated view on work is essential.

    Execution

    • You are the benchmark of quality and the standard for your discipline in the agency.
    • Your design for digital should be beyond question and be the envy of all below you.

    Presentation

    • You will need to be able to present work well to the most senior clients and organisational heads.
    • You will be responsible for presenting your teams' pitch work.
    • You will need to be able to present work right from strategy to creative execution. 

    Production

    • You will be responsible for all production decisions: choice of suppliers and the quality of work you extract from them.
    • You should feel confident having the final say on work before it goes to client and the media.

    Digital Project Manager

    We believe that “the people with the best people win” and are looking for a dynamic Johannesburg based Digital Project Manager to join our team and be part of this audacious vision. We are looking for a brave, bright, optimistic problem solver.

    A Digital Project Manager drives e-projects through from initial concept to delivery. They work on a range of campaigns on several different projects and must be adept at managing and building client relationships and reporting on the status of projects. 

    Four focus areas:

    • Project Management- You take ownership of all the Digital specific campaigns tasked to you and ensure project deliverables are tracked against the Project plans which are considered & accurate and you strive to adhere to the commitments made to the various stakeholders. Both internal and external. 
    • Financial Management – Working closely with the overall Campaign driver, budgets are managed tightly with a keen eye on innovation and best practice models in the most cost-effective way. 
    • Stakeholder & Integration Management - You understand that your role is not in isolation of the Campaign driver, your focus will be on the Digital and Social needs of all jobs in your remit. As such, your orientation is to drive collaboration and integration in an effort for all teams to work better together. 
    • Administrative Management: You pay attention to the detail  and worry about the little things, with strong organization, admin and time management skills.

    Five qualities we are looking for:

    • Clarity: You leave no room for questions as you ensure that all stakeholders are clear on what happens when a brief is received or a campaign has been approved and needs to be expanded onto Digital and Social Channels. 
    • Business Savvy: You have the ability to have your finger on the pulse when it comes to finances: Managing of budgets across your jobs to deliver on the best work for the campaign, and to do this in a manner that leads to the most productive output/solutions for the jobs.
    • High level EQ: You act as a barometer when it comes to people / workload and the glue between the ATL and Digital and Social Teams in studio – You are able to raise, flag and manage this in an efficient and effective manner.
    • Relationship Builder –You hold positive relationships with your Campaign drivers as well as all internal teams you engage with on jobs. They enjoy working with you, because you support the fight for great work and consistency and are able to connect dots across departments seamlessly to drive solutions.
    • Proactive Problem Solver - Your ability to solve in the positive, makes all the difference, because you not only find and implement solutions, but you do so by consulting with relevant stakeholders to ensure no deadline is missed. You never panic, and instead provides calmness to the storm.

    Three things you must have:

    • Matric certificate with college or university exemption
    • Must have at least 3 years' advertising background with digital project/account management experience  and an understanding of the key departments, processes and structures within an Advertising Agency
    • Must be PC literate: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel - preferably with experience working CHASE software

    Proofreader

    You will be responsible for proofing, and editing written and digital content in a fast-paced agency environment. You will also be required to write content for websites, brochures and the like from time to time. QA’s who are able to check the technical correctness of the design/CI are more likely to land the job – and any unicorns who are also able to perform tech QA will of course be loved and welcomed with open arms.
     
    The two critical aspects for success:
    1. An excellent command of English as a 1st language.
    2. A natural perfectionist who is meticulous and has an obsession for detail.
     
    Two things you will be responsible for:
    1. Proofreading work for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, usage, consistency, and brand voice.
    2. Cross-checking references and data to ensure the accuracy of content.
     
    Required skills and qualifications:
    A Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years in a similar role, along with the following:

    1. Computer proficiency 
    2. Strong writing ability
    3. Detail oriented –whether on paper or on-screen, you’ll need to have a knack for catching the most basic of errors.
